Terms of service
Last updated: 2026-04-09
These terms form a contract between you and HPT Limited (“HPT”, “we”), an Irish private company registered with the CRO under number 559430, and govern your use of the placemy.cloud website and the placemy command-line tool (together, the “Service”). If you don't accept these terms, please don't use the Service.
1. Licence
Subject to payment of the applicable fees, HPT grants you a non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the placemy command-line tool for your own and your organisation's internal business purposes. The licence is per operator: one natural person per Solo seat, up to five per Team seat, and as agreed in writing for Enterprise.
2. Acceptable use
- Don't share your licence key outside the people your plan covers.
- Don't attempt to reverse the tool in order to circumvent licensing, and don't remove or alter the licensing mechanism.
- Don't use the Service to process personal data belonging to anyone other than you or people you are authorised to act on behalf of.
- Don't flood the licence validation API. Each machine revalidates at most once per week under normal operation; anything materially above that may be rate-limited or blocked.
3. Fees & billing
Fees are charged monthly or annually via Stripe, in advance. All fees are exclusive of VAT; Irish VAT or reverse-charge treatment is applied per Stripe's tax logic based on your billing address and VAT number. Failure to pay may result in licence suspension.
4. Cancellation & refunds
You can cancel at any time through the Stripe Customer Portal linked from your dashboard. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period. We don't offer pro-rata refunds for partial months, but if something is genuinely broken on our side and we can't fix it promptly, email us and we'll make it right.
5. Warranties
The Service is provided “as is”. placemy surfaces recommendations; it does not guarantee that acting on them will reduce your cloud bill or avoid service disruption. You remain responsible for reviewing each recommendation before applying it to production.
6. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, HPT's total liability to you for any claim arising out of or related to the Service is limited to the fees you paid in the twelve months preceding the claim. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for lost profits or lost data. Nothing in these terms limits any liability that cannot be limited under Irish law.
7. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Ireland. The courts of Ireland have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising out of or related to the Service.
8. Changes
We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be announced by email to the address on your account at least 14 days before taking effect.
